Founder Plans

we're going to offer a founder plan, and we want to be clear about what it is and isn't before it exists.

why not a lifetime deal

the usual way to thank early supporters is a lifetime or unlimited membership. it's a good deal on day one and a bad one for everyone after that: nobody can fund a service for decades from a single payment, so the plan either quietly loses features or the company runs out of road. most people have been burned by this, and they're right to be skeptical when they see one.

so a founder plan has to be one we can honor for as long as we're around. that means it keeps paying its way, and the benefit is in what you get for the price, not in not paying.

what founders get

a founder pays the same price as the personal plan, $6 a month, and gets the capabilities of the team plan:

  • team limits. the same number of users and self hosted runners as the Team plan, 10 users and 4 runners, for clarity its still a personal plan, not for profit businesses open source|personal projects are fine.
  • usage at cost. hosted compute, cache and storage are charged at cost. hosted vCPU is the same rate as Team, $0.002 per minute per vCPU, and there's no markup on top of what the infrastructure costs us.
  • dedicated support. dedicated support from us for your workloads.
  • a direct voice. founders get direct dedicated support, with the team. you can talk to the people building eg, tell us what's broken and what you need next.

that last one is the reason we want a founder group at all. a company usually loses the people who helped it get started first, because it stops being able to hear them. we'd rather keep them in the room.

the personal plan

for reference, the personal plan is $6 a month, and hosted vCPU is billed at the same rate as Team, $0.002 per minute per vCPU. the pricing page has the rest.
